Our Purpose

The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities provides vital services supporting adults with learning disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

We believe everyone is different but everyone has potential and our support workers have seen people learn to cook, improve their communication, get a work placement, paid work or even move into independent living in the community.

Amongst the skills offered by The Grange are Catering, Horticulture, Creative Arts, Woodwork, Embroidery and Digital Technology. From these skill sessions every item we sell, is grown, made or designed by the People We Support and then sold in our shops online, or in person at our Bookham Shop, The Grange Shop@No 5.

The Grange Shop@No 5

Most of what we sell online is available to purchase in our Bookham based Shop@No 5 too. It’s a space where the people we support run a range of different enterprises, from printing to sewing, upcycling to candle making, to creating individual pieces of art. Many of which are used on our greetings cards, mugs, water bottles and much, much more. It’s also here where we fulfil our online shop orders; we pick, pack and despatch from here. It’s where you can ‘click and collect’ when you buy online from us.

The Shop@No5 is where the people we support can also learn about retail skills – from dressing windows to answering phones, ordering stock and developing their customer service skills.
